On the scale of 1- 10, I think that I am now a “5” type wife. Merely tolerant. In the beginning, with the acquisition of the first half dozen Sweptline pickups, I was very enthusiastic and supportive. I hired a dozer operator to expand our driveways, and clear a large area behind our separate three-car shop so that there was enough parking for a dozen vehicles. As the number of “parts” trucks kept following my husband home, vehicles no longer fit behind the shop and I slipped from a 10 to a 9 to an 8, and so on. Then last summer I desperately needed a truck to haul stuff as my dear hubby’s only “runner” ran off the road when the brakes failed on a curve with a full ton of firewood in back and he burned up the engine trying to “drive” it out of our neighbor’s backwoods. So I had to go buy a 66 Ford F250 2wd. I slipped to a “6”. Last weekend, my spouse drove my pickup so hard that it backfired and the engine burst into flames. $406 later, with a new carburetor, distributor cab & rotor, plug wires and a few odd items, my Ford is running again. And I am solidly at “5”. I think that I will hide my truck keys.
