251 Head Gasket Replacement

I have finally stopped lurking. I need to replace the head gasket on my 251 flathead engine. I have checked out the "best of forum" posts on correct torque sequence but I was wondering if there were any tricks of the trade that might help, or at least save time and bloody knuckles.

Any thoughts on places to buy the head gasket besides VPW?

BTW the engine is in a 1968 WM300 flatfender.
