I just didn't mention the 30 year rolling exemption because the hippies in the legislature are trying to roll it back to 1964!
Regardless, if your vehicle is older than the limit, IT MUST STILL HAVE all of the factory smog equipment on it! If you are exempt from inspection and take your devices off, you are still subject to fines and penalties if caught. Down here we have photo spectronalysis machines at freeway onramps and random road-block checkpoints. The machines "read" tailpipe emissions and if you are exceding the limits, you are photographed and a fine is mailed. You can contest the fine but you are required to "visit" the test only stations for "consultation". If you are "selected" and found to be wanting, you may not go home with your vehicle! The CHP has flatbed tow trucks standing by at every road block. However the one good thing about budget cuts is the decrease in inspections ha!ha! I just didn't want Joe to go into this deal with his eyes closed!
Besides, PINK vehicles are EXEMPT!
