NO expert, but if the manual says engine oil, thats cool. some components have seals swell up when not using the correct stuff. I personally do not have much faith in multigrade oils, but when using strait grade (as I`m sure you know) don`t go to heavy in winter unless you have a heated garage.
All that bs being said, when I ran Case backhoes in the patch I changed the hyd fluid for summer & winter. Don`t ask me #s & stuff, but Case construction dealers have always been informative for me, give one a call. We are talking temps to - 50. I also gave up on steel lines, & gradually replaced them all with "CAT" hoses. Just my wimpy Can. 2 cents. Best regards George
