Just some drivel-ish thoughts...

Pardon my mushiness, but I’ve just got to pass something along to all you “Dodge Brothers”. I realize the original Dodge Brothers, were, in fact, brothers. But the bond of this forum, as well as Paul and Gordon’s forums, and the Power Wagon rallies around the country, is a brotherhood.

This outpouring of sentiment stems from a recent run in with a local British car club. Now, these aren’t snobby folks, no Rolls-Royce owners or anything, and we’re all good-hearted mid-west folks, but there is a definite ‘clique-thing’ going on. I realize I’m new in their herd, but I NEVER got that feeling from Power Wagon folks. Ever. Not from day-one when I met Paul Cook,... perhaps a mistake, but never-the-less, then Judd (... man, is this going down hill or what?!?...) then I attended a rally with Judd and Calvin “Bud” Bescheinen, and now have a total of about six rallies under my belt. From my first rally when I knew zipp-o about Power Wagons (of which I admittedly still know zipp-o!) to the last rally I attended, I never felt like I couldn’t approach anyone and just start talking trucks, or trash, to them (if you’re thin skinned, you shouldn’t be on this forum!). I’ve met folks from CA (Chris ‘CaseBro’, Randy Baker), to TX (too many folks to list here, except I notice the trend in highly regarded personnel is continuing to decline rapidly... : ) and a lot of fine folks at the rally in IA (Paul (in NY), Clint, Frank, Eric B., T-Roy, Chewie, Dave and the rest of his crew at VPW, and a zillion others). I’ve met Dave “Get off the Internet” Lundstrum from ND, and Todd “Help me find a decent Power Wagon” Wilson in KS. And I’ve ‘talked’ to a lot of other friends-I-haven’t-met on this forum like we’re old buddies. I can kid around with Russ in WY and tease him about his sheep, and I’ve never met the guy! (He still has to show me a bugleing elk.) I bought an M-37 from ‘Tanker’ in KY, sight unseen because I trusted what he told me over the phone. What Dodge guy would lie?!?! (...Judd merely s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-s the truth...) I guess I’ve just gotten sentimental in my old age and appreciate down-to-earth folks. I enjoyed reading what everyone does for a living on a poll just a couple of forums ago. Power Wagon owners from all walks of life; Texas Doctors and lawyers (Brad “My Clients are Innocent Until Proven Broke” Zelinski), to budding entre-MANUREs (like Judd, he’s into all kinds of s**t). I owe some of my Power Wagon cartoon T-shirts to Ken, and to Fletch and Dan in CO, and speaking of shirts, it sounds like everyone from this forum, no matter what they do for a living, would give you the shirt off of their back (except Marty’s pink tank top, he’s keeping that for himself) even if they didn’t agree with you or your demeanor (sorry for the cat thing Fred!) but solely because you liked these hulking old Dodge trucks, that’s all the clout you seem to need around here!! Mention owning a flat-fender to folks, and you’re friends for life. (Some of you though, need to own a Lamborghini just to have ‘friends’...)

In conclusion, Ladies and Jellyspoons, I guess its just no surprise why I enjoy hanging out on these forums. Even if it is just for drivel (MoparNorm would be so proud!).

Keep Dodgin’ ‘em!
