Interesting junkyard

I just went and visited "Ray's auto wrecking" here in Everett to look at an old A-frame boom,
and I must say I've never seen anything quite like it. It's definitely a "U-pull-it" yard, and
there're the usual rows of newer cars, but I don't think any hulks have ever left the yard.
There are huge piles (50' X 100' X 10' high) of ancient chassis stripped of everything but
axles and springs, mostly with trees and ferns growing on them. When I told "Ray" I wanted to put
the boom on a military duece-and-a-half he sent me back out with instructions on where to find
what's left of his old deuce-and-a-half and what he called a "bomb truck". I'm not sure if I
found the big truck (he said it had an alder a foot through growing through it), and the "bomb
truck" appeared to have been made into a trailer. It had the characteristic arched support for
the I beam trolley and chain hoist though, and a fair size willow growing through the whole thing.
I never did find the Buick Roadmaster, but there was a plymouth with an apparently intact 230
flathead. His yard is now surrounded with yuppie suburban tract developments, and he's getting
too old to get around so I fear it will all be scrap metal before long.

Just thought I'd pass the info along in case anybody needs a place to take their girlfriend for
a little sightseeing when they're out here on vacation.
