Personally,I wouldn't think twice about intalling any type of PVC air lines.About 6 years ago I had the experance of seeing an entire 3 bay truck shop turned into a war zone. There was approximatly 300' of overhead PVC [schedule 40]that shattered without warning! When I say shattered,I mean pieces 6-8" & down.It blew out every floresent light in the shop.Sure made a mess of the insulation not to mention the clean up.Luckily no one was injured. If you think about any type of line that contains pressure, theres some expansion & contraction involved.Probably more-so where PVC is involved.Steel line are more costly & time consuming to install, but well worth it in the long haul.Just be sure to keep lines drained of liquids as much as possible. Also don't place regulators, traps,& check valves in outdoor areas. When you get condensation trapped in these areas, old man winter sure plays havoc.Hope this helps.....Steel for me!
