I have watched this page and the hobby for three years now. I believe you would do best by us and yourselves if you start with rear fenders and beds 1947 WDX through 1950 PW126. Fenders are so rare and costly. Most beds and nearly all tailgates except fire trucks were roughly used or if not used up completely. And lots of trucks were sold as chasis cabs with no factory bed.

The early style will probably be easier to make and is a nice look on any year truck. I agree with the advantages of four stakes. My bed is OK but I'd love to have fenders and a Dodge script tailgate.

Finally, wood and steel or chrome strips are all readily available from Bruce Horkey Cabinet Company, MAR-K and others. I cut my own wood, but will buy stainless steel strips when the time comes. Thanks for remembering us Dodge lovers!
