You will also prob find that the lower knuckle
bearings are shot because they bear all the
weight of the front end and are at the bottom
where all the water collects. They will either
have indented grooves on the races or pitted
rollers or both. This will cause hard steering for
obvious reasons. Check them. They are much more
important than the bronze ones. And you will then have to adjust the preload with the shims which
come with the new set of knuckle seals that you
should have. The specs are in the M37 maintenance manual and the PW manual.
I replaced them on mine.
