With 4 wheel disc brakes on a '51 PW I have no problem locking up the brakes at 50 mph and skidding to a stop with my hands off the steering wheel. There is no tendency to deviate from a straight line. The origional MC has a 10 psi residual presure check valve in it (most drum brakes have this to keep the shoes from drawing back from the drum if they are out of adjustment)
This is a bit too much for disc brakes as they only need about 2 psi residual presure. So if you are using the origional MC with disc brakes your pads will wear a little faster than they should. I will eventually have time to experament with proportioning valves and provide you with better info on these. I have just about finished the installation of my master cyl conversion for the M37 and will have the info. uploaded to my site (www.helitool.com) in about 1 week. So if you have an M37 you should be able for less than $100 to compleatly eliminate the Chrysler brake system. and by selecting the proper MC to have a perfect match for your particular fore and aft setup (disc/drum or disc/disc) All of the parts for this can be bought locally. If you have any further questions let me know.
