You didn't mention flooding out or starving for fuel. I'd stay with what you have if all other specs are the same. Is this the round float type such as my 42 has? Fiddling is a lot cheaper, and unless there is damage done to the passages, the carb can be rebuilt easier (and sooooo much cheaper) than replacing. Something may be sticking, if you want to see on the bench, try mounting it to a board with a hole for the throttle body, attach a wet/dry vac under the throlle body, remove the carb bowl cover, connect a hose to the fuel input, filling it with a gravity feed tube of water from a jug on top the bench while you tilt the board and work the throttle back and forth, maybe you can see the problem. could be a sticking needle valve or float in the angled position only. Find the solution and tell us, thats the fun of this hobby. Regards WAW
