Mark, I seriously doubt anyone kids themselves about what they drive. They know exactly what they've got. Who are you to judge another's efforts. the 'official, authentic, original,'Power Wagon police? Can I not bring a 3/4t. carryall, or a 1/2t. command car to a 'Power Wagon rally'?
You know that these trucks are not 'real man,
tough guy, Power Wagons'by definition. Should we all get together and make sure nobody mistakes them for P.W.'s. We'll also need to keep an eye on those 'un-manly' M37's too.
The way I understand your thinking, we should have a tech inspection bay at all P.W. events. We'd
pay a small fee to have each alleged P.W. verified before allowing entry to the event.
We'd have to do a thorough job, though. Imposters are everywhere, and the only way to know for sure is to dismantle completely each alleged P.W. Nothing but original allowed. Anybody found using hardened valve seats to run unleadded gas will be asked to appear before the Power Wagon Police. It's a modification.
Other modifications will be dealt with accordingly, Brakes: lose a hand. Axle mods: lose a leg. "Illegal Motor: Decapitation. etc.
Seems a bit crazy, as well as narrow minded.
Just my opinion, of course.
Carl
