The two wrecked Carryalls I bought from Troy went to the dockside in Galveston and there they sat till the shipping agent could satisfy US Customs by getting them both titled before they would let them out the US, even as a rolling pile of parts and junk.
I now know I need a title with any road vehicle I buy in any conditon if I want the cutoms to let it out, though it's worth remembering that they dont seem to apply the same rules to off-road vehicles that technically might not have needed a title, as my Sno-Cat was waved out without anything other than a bill of sale.
