Look below the Dist, just above the oil relief spring passage. The date is usally cast on to the block there (raised numbers), or close by. Most of the time it's coated in grime, so you may need a small wire bruh and some solvent. The engineering code will be stamped on the block, just above the generator or alternator and should start with a T 137.
