on an '85 1Ton(D350) Ram 2WD Manual transmission what would make a rattling sound come through the shifter? it does it in all gears,(except first[compound low) and more loudly when I'm on the freeway. you can move the shifter around a lot in gear, but the tranny never pops out of gear,it won't let you just pull it out of gear either, and it shifts great. could the shifter be worn out? and if so how do I change it? asked my grandfather, but he couldn't say exactly( he's worked on way too many cars to remember that specific make.) any help would be great. i haven't really done much transimission work other than fluid changes and a clutch. so i don't know what might be wrong.
