OT Any Boat engine people around?

Was wondering if on a Johnson Boat 2 cylinder Engine that is 2 cycle and uses a FRO Fuel Pump for Mixing the oil and Gas can you ByPass the Mixing section pump and just use 48:1 fuel mix that the engine needs? This is in case the mixture is not right for the engine. I ByPassed pump completely for the test run of the engines with pre mix fuel. Thanks, Mark H.
