Just for grins I thought I'd give you the update: I pulled out the old points and cond that "looked good". the cond wire going to the points was missing the insulation on the bottom side. Put in the new points but the new cond wouldn't fit. Taped up the wire instead. Still wouldn't fire. Verified I had spark at all cyls with a timing light. Finally found the timing mark on the crank and figured where it should be firing. I had missed the correct holes and everything was firing late by 60 degrees. Moved things around and - voila- lots of noise. Loud little beast with only 4 feet of pipe and no muffler. Thanks for your input. - Fletch
