look at the block just below the passenger side head in the front. There is a rectagular lug cast in the block there. On it will be stamped 266, 304, 345, or 392. It is one of these. IH also made some BIG v-8s, all the way up to 605 ci. It isn't one of these unless it is installed in the back of the Carryall!!!
Feel free to ask any questions you may have, I have a 1949 B-1 PW with a IH 304 in it and a 1952 M-37 with a IH 266 in it.
