On Tuesday of this week, I was poised along with 9 other available red-carded personnel from our department and 3 engines to travel to CA for a 14-day commitment. Plans changed with some new fires in CO and we got downsized to 3 of our career staff and 1 engine. Be week's end, no one from our department went out of district to either CA or CO. State-level Govt. administers the deployment of resources for us. Sorry we weren't able to make the trip! Bruce (Northeast Teller County Fire Protection District).
