I am happy that they accommodated you. If you wouldn't mind sharing - did you have a signed contract? Did they give you a narrow (say, 7-day) time-frame for pick up? Did they follow through with their ETA?
I am a great fan of trust, handshakes, and old-fashioned cash-on-the-barrel-head dealings.
However, we are talking a very nice truck, and a Dodge, at that!!!
As a businessman who depends greatly upon the adage "Put it in writing" I felt that they were rather cavalier in their business practices.
I asked them pointedly, after having been told that they don't do contracts, "What happens when my truck never arrives?" Without a contract spelling out year, make, model, VIN, owner's name, etc, what legal recourse would I have to recover the vehicle, or, indeed, even to start a police investigation into its whereabouts.
They had no answer to this question. I went elswhere.
