Manny, 3/4 x16 on my 1948 civilian. Measure the o.d. of the male threads with something that reads in 1/1000. Use the 6 inch calipers from the good drawer of your tool box. What ever reading you get, take that over to your Decimal Equivalents chart which should be hanging on the wall. You will usually read a few thousands under the actual size. Clearance. So, if you get .748, that is real close to .750 and that is 3/4" Then get your Screw Pitch Gage, it gages from 80 threads per inch to 8 tpi. See what fits. Confirm that with the tap size information on your wall chart. Easy. For $50 at MSC supply you should get everything you need includeing the die, about $12.00. Dial Calipers come on special around $20, pitch gage, import, about $16. Ask them for a decimal equivalent chart. They may throw it in. MSC is a great supplier, they are in NY. 800 645 7270. You comming across for some warm water and sun this winter? There's room, and another Dodge. David
