I aprecate the information on the 6X6s given to me. I do have my eyes open for one that is a newer model for the right price later. I would like it to have the Cummins 250 Turbo Engine and a hard top with/out or with a bed on the back. A winch would be nice also. I stumbled into the truck I now have for I think a good price ($3,000.00 after the box was sold). I have also designed the tank to be removed easy and go on another truck if I can get one later and still not mess up this one for re/sale since it is worth more as a Flat Bed the way it is. A 6X6 would be a better truck to use having 6 wheel drive for getting out of tight spots with. If I bought one it would be a 1980s plus Model with the newer up/dates. I like the idea of tandom axles with lower weight for cheaper insurance reasons and for better responce on or off the road. The pay is not that much more for the extra water to carry. Please don't get me wrong on this, I have a little over 5 months to get it ready for inspection to get on the 2004 Fire Season and still have quite a lot of stuff to do this winter in the snow and cold weather we have. I can allways switch trucks later and if it works out right I will do that to the better set up once I am signed on. Mark H.
