To answer your question, they are straight.

With the help of others on this board I made a pattern, then made my own set of extensions and bumpers. I *did* have a local machine shop form the basic channels of 3/16" material on their big brake, then cut the profiles, bent and welded them together.

It was a lot of work, but they came out well. Photos avail.
