BZ has a new toy, a Volvo-C303, the specs are mighty impressive, I might just have to get one for myself...Ha !, a Maple Hauler.

(Military version model 4141):
6 cyl. water cooled inline motor oversquare bore and stroke 3.5"x3.47" 182 cu.in.(3 liter) 125 hp @4250 rpm

4 speed manual 1st-3.85:1 2nd-2.08:1 3rd-1.39:1

(crawl ratio=53.37:1) turning circle 37.6 ft.
drum brakes F&R, front axle suspension-solid axle leaf spring-under. Rear axle suspension- solid axle leafspring-over.
90.6" WB,171.4" L.O.A,74.9"wide,90.6" height,F&R track width 60.7", ground clearance 17",approach angle 45 degrees, departure angle 20 degrees, curb weight 4895 lbs. tire size 280/85x16 4 ply.
fuel capacity 22 gal. max. speed 95km/h. oil capacity 6qts.payload 1980 lbs. 12 volt electrical system. claim of 60% grade climbing ability. softop and hardtops were manufactured. Volvo also made a 6x6 (16.45 ft. L.O.A.)and an 8x8 (20 ft.L.O.A.) The C-303 automatically goes into 4 WD when in low range and when braking. 4 WD may be engaged in high range manually. the chassis is conventional i.e. ladder type frame. Diff locks are mechanical engaged, vacuum actuated type. a PTO is optional.125 degree breakover angle. torque curve starts at 900 rpm and is relatively flat up to 4500 rpm. Gear shift mechanism is one shift lever with high and low to the right of the normal gear pattern. Typical H pattern.
There are about 5 different body configurations, softtop, hardtop w/hatch, pickup truck style,ambulance, firetruck and so forth. All models are 5 door except pickup truck.
