No secrets here after 2 years of searching I have accumlated rebuild kits, brushes and a pile of these motors. To convert to 12V I just start with a 12V motor and replace the front with the power wagon/ dodge truck front that has the integral bracket. If the splines on end are stripped I will replace shaft with good used or new. I also clean up the communtor and if I have to replace the brushes I seat them with fine emery cloth. Bearings are cleaned and lubricated and if the grease in gears is old I replace it with synth. grease. I then recheck everything and test. I will gaurantee these for for a reasonable time and will always assist in future repairs as long as I have parts. As you can see the time can really add up. I hope this helps and good luck. John
