I have Earthlink, and like them. I realize this is not what you want to hear, but I think they do a good job, and I wonder what else could be contributing to the problem.
One thought. When you get that message, have you tried refresh? I get that sometimes when looking at sites on a PC away from home. If I hit refresh, I get the page just fine, whatever page it was.
