Yes it can be done but not easily & often not very sucessfully.
Basically you have to slide the new seal up & around the top of the crank & it can be a very difficult task.
I've found it to be easier to pull the engine & do it out of the truck. I guess if I had a hoist I might try the under the truck route but it's not easy to do under there.
It's really not a big job to get the engine out of a PW. 15 minutes & the whole front end & fenders are off...2 hours & she's sitting on your engine stand!
