i bought a rebuilt 360 1978 dodge little red express truck engine for my m37. it had a manifold on it (340 hipo) but no dist and no carb. i bought a edelbrock carb and a rebuilt dist that i put a pertronix kit in.

i dont remember which port (timed or port) but looking at the engine from the front it was the right (drivers's side) port that i used.

the edelbrock carbs are extremely tolerant of most conditions and are best left close to their factory settings.

i used a 600 cfm w/electric choke. the orig was a 850 quadrajet. i was afraid of being under carbed at 600, but the 850 had small primaries and huge secondaries. the 600 is more balanced and is plenty of carb for a 318.

good luck,

mannyc
