Hi !
I cannot beleive it failed ! I was rolling down the highway when she started to knock. The oil pressure never shot below 10 psi and when I pulled over the oil level was time. I slowly drove it home for about 2 miles. It sounds like maybe a rod bearing...It gets very loud coming off of idle! After removing wires to check for the troublesome cylinder, it turned out to be #5. When I removed the spark plug (#5), the knock disappeared. Stupid question : Is there a way that I can run the truck with only 5 cylinders? Yes, it only has a 6 with a 3 on the tree, but it ran nice. Q2:I would like to get your opinion on if I should put another 6 in or move up to a 318, 360, etc. I mainly use the truck for going to work which consists of mainly 20 miles of highway cursin' 5 days a week. Thanks for all replys!!
Kevin (now stuck drivin a chevy van) ;(
