My Dad's cousin was one of those kids that loved practical jokes, even if it got him in all kinds of trouble and nearly strung up by the short ones.
His classic was he took a Model A spark coil and rigged it up to a urinal in the boys bathroom at school. One wire in the urinal and one on the floor where he had thrown a little water. He waited in one of the stalls for an unsuspecting person to come in. Unfortunately it was the principal but he did not know that. He "lit" the guy up when he was relieving himself. needless to say my Dad's cousin was in very deep "kim-chee" to say the least. I think he got a suspension but they did not call it that in the late 1930's.
