Anyone like me, outside the US, should be willing to send cash up front AND WAIT FOR IT ALL TO BE CLEARED before expecting you to part with the vehicle. If you do the same, and I'm talking cleared, not just a cheque lodged, and no other parties are involved it might be OK.

I do sometimes cut corners, for example;

I'll pay for a truck but I need a price that includes storage for a while and / or delivery to a shipping point.

I'll pay for a part, but get it sent to a friend in the US for posting onwards to me.

I'll hold a truck in the US and get parts from all over put in the cab or the back to minimise the ripoff customs charges on bringing parts into this country. (I pay about a 60% markup on the Dollar value to get anything worth 50 USD or more)

I'd also expect any dealer or real enthusiast in the UK or Europe to be able to give you a local name to vouch for them.
