I've read where they can match brand of tire prints and if your tire has a nick or cut somewhere thats unique and they can match the print the exact tire then you are busted. I find it hard to believe they would go this far into detail for a little 4 wheeling off road. This would be like tire tracks leaving a murder scene or something.
And you are right theres some stink somewhere in all this!
