shipping large tires

I just bought some 38x13x16 Swampers on E-bay. I got a pretty good deal but they are in CA and I am in ND. What is the cheapest way to ship tires, esp. big ones? I am pretty sure these are too big for UPS, and Greyhound says about $62 PER TIRE, which adds up to a lot. Any other ideas? ForwardAir is about the same and can only get them to Minneapolis, MN, 500 miles away. Anyone driving from Orange county CA to ND or MN? Thanks for any and all ideas.
