Sorry man, I chopped up a 40' Spartan earlier this year. You could have had it for nothing...but it was pretty rough. Tried to give it away around here (WA state, across from Hood River, OR) for more than a year. Nobody in our area would take it and I cut it up rather than have the FD burn it. Got a little money for the aluminum. The frame was too light for my PW-hauling trailer project but I used the tongue and axles. It was a tremendous amount of work to chop up and I got stung by the damn hornets that had built nests in the insulation.

Can't really imagine restoring that one. I'd rather just do a bus conversion. You can find really cool old busses in good condition for cheap...in fact I've got a good-running '65 GMC full-size I'm trying to sell for $500. Lots of '40s busses still out there too.

My neighbor has a, maybe earlier(?) '50s--I guess--, aluminum trailer (about half the length of the Spartan as I remember) that is in much better condition. can't remember the name of the manufacturer. The floor is soft, but the original cabinets, etc. seem to be in good shape. There isn't a title, it was on his property when he bought it in '78. He has said anyone who wants it can have it. Let me know if you're interested and I can take some pics and help you move it if it's something you can use.
