Depends on if you are fighting structure or wildland. Structure lots of water, grass and brush not so much. We use 20-30 gpm nozzles to conserve water because of how far you may have to go get it with no hydrants around. Our brush trucks only hold about 200 gals in the tanks. I will be also fighting fire with mine sometimes. Wetting down Hella Pads also that is where the monitor comes in handy. I have a nice Akron 1 1/2 inch Turbo 30-60-90-125 GPM Nozzle with stream, fog and flush I can use too. Along with a Akron 90 GPM Class A Foam Eductor if needed. Most of the time we use 1 inch hose on quick attact. The Tenders mostly fill the Brush Trucks and temp tanks on the ground with the dump shute on the back of the tank. The Monitor would be for long range and not used much. Maybe a top of a tree or something like second story house work. We are not supposed to fight structures being a wildland fire dept. But if it is my house or a freind that's different we just squirt the outside down and don't go in, not set up for it. More goodies on the truck you get called out more. Sometimes you need to protect the truck too! Mark H.
