thousand people in North Carolina are without power as of last report. There is probably a lot more than that. One report said a witness saw a stove, washer / dryer, and a refrigerator floating down the roadway. The wind is getting up here and the rain started about an hour ago. Spent some time this afternoon securing things at the barn & tool shed. Got in from a trip to Texas at lunch time and the rain was hammering down in Greensboro. There is a rescue effort in progress right now in Craven County (Frank USMC is in the county next to Craven). Flooding seems to be the problem.
