I too, have a great deal of respect for the level of ingenuity required to complete this conversion, however, I think that it falls severely short of the ultimate tow rig. The suspension and drive train are too weak to reliably get that power to the ground while towing a significant load. I followed this build-up on the tdr and was impressed with the set-up. He did a very good job of selecting components made for light-duty trucks that would withstand the weight and power of the 8 cyl. Cummins (for low GVW driving). On the other hand, I was astonished when I saw him advertise the truck with the information about using it to tow significant loads. I think that the set up amounts to an excellent exhibition or show truck, but is not at all suited to heavy, long haul towing duty. If you desire the ultimate tow rig, you would be much better off with a 2nd or 3rd gen CTD or dare I say a good 7.3 ltr power stroke. But ultimately if you need that kind of power to tow with than you need a medium duty truck. There are not any light duty components (transmissions, transfer cases, axles or anything else) that will provide reliable high mileage service with that kind of power. And that goes for severely juiced cummins, duramax and powerstroke alike!!!

We still have the same favorite color for FFPW's, Marty, but on this I must disagree!

Dan
