my dad was an electrician.union.however a friend of mine who was a general contractor used to tell me. building to code is bare minumum, build better then code when you do that things go well.if someone builds strictly to code don`t hire him.my friend was never a rich man but he was comfortable and could sleep well at night.same with my dad.
