Manuals are good. I have many manuals. TM9-4018A Ordinance Maintenance Engine/Clutch/Borg/Beck seemed the applicable. of my manuals, to this question. It discusses engine/trans rebuilding. Unfortunately, the rear main seal is discussed in the context of the powerpack already being removed from the truck.
Does your shop manual specifically address whether the rear seal in 1940's 230 engines may be removed in the truck? Thanks.
