I have never seen this happen before. I start the '52 up and it runs fine, and idles fine. Water stays cool, and oil pressure is 40 PSI. This truck has sat for at least 10 years. It uses a electric fuel pump.
The problem is, that the exaust manifold and the exaust pipe where they connect, gets visibly cherry red hot after idling for only a few minutes. What could be causing this? A stuck intake valve dumping fuel into the exaust manifold?
