I need some off topic help from the forum of experts here. I asked about the Powell many moons ago and you guys supplied a wealth of info.
Here's another challenge.
The DART truck company.
Any info/books/internet/pictures or what ever any of you guys know about the DART trucks. All I can find is PacCar bought them out in the 50's along with Kenworth and Peterbilt.
I met a new friend today. He actually came to Kansas from Chicago to buy a DART oil field truck from a guy I know. I go them together and a deal was struck. This truck seems to be the only DART we can find anywhere. Nothing on the internet or at the ATHS. No one has heard of it. Its a big ol dog with a wood steering wheel. My new friend had a photo copy someone sent of a small picture and paragraph about DART and that was it. We think the truck is a late 40's very early 50's truck. Over time the truck line has changed an a new company makes the giant dump trucks in strip mines and they are called DART with the same logo.
Cool thing is this truck has sat for who knows how long. Last night in the parking lot of the motel here sitting on his lowboy he got the truck to fire up and run!!!!!!! Turned over about 5 seconds and took right off!
