1- Got my own name now.
2- You weren't following your truck...it smoked a lot.
3- "No one else went there besides Carl and I"...I believe there was another grease eating diesel that made it that day. And a Jeep. And your truck was still blowing the black smoke. 3.5 mpg? I think it would have been more like 4 mpg to move the thing but you lost 0.5mpg with raw fuel running out the tailpipes. :-)
4- The grease on the "greasy truck" wasn't from the diesel, it was because some German engineer liked that truck to be well lubricated…ALL parts of the truck were oiled, like a fine watch. And it didn't suffer any rock chips, just a good dusting. Dust stuck to the oil like feathers to tar. Marty wanted to wash the dust off at the gas station but you wouldn't swap him American quarters for his Canook quarters. Haha.
