Socket set (3/8 to 1-1/4”)
Screwdriver set
Regular, needle nose and pump pliers
Wrench set (3/8 to 1-1/4”)
Wire cutter pliers
Roll of stainless steel mechanics wire
Medium size Crescent wrench
A roll of 3M black electrical tape
Medium size ball peen hammer
2 Fire Extinguishers (you’re going during a warm time of year in the southern desert)
Extra coolant, oil, Tran’s fluid
Flashlight and drinking water
Small tub of wheel bearing grease
Road emergency kit – Flashers, caution signs, etc.
Tire Jack capable of lifting the total weight of the crew cab

Before you go, check:
Radiator hoses for fatigue
Belts for cracks
Tran’s radiator/tube rubber hoses for cracks (if you’re using an automatic). If your vehicle is 5 or more years old and these have not been replaced, I would do it before you go and also change the Tran’s oil filter. There are loooooooooooooooooooong stretches between towns in places.
Tires on the trailer – make sure they are not badly weather cracked and have good tread, if not, replace
Make SURE you have two spare tires for the trailer. You’re going to be hauling some weight. Good Luck!!
