After looking at the photos on Chris' site, and seeing what looks like an Esab welder/plasma combination machine, I have a few thoughts to throw out there. I think it would be easier to convert a plasma cutter to this task than a regular mig welder. The conversion would involve adding some form of drive to feed the wire to be sprayed into the plasma torch jet. I don't know that there needs to be any current going through the wire itself, so all that would be needed as a feeder is a small 120v mig welder, or a remote feeder from a larger industrial mig. (most of the old feeders run on simple 120v and have their own internal rectifier/ speed control, and are often sold seperatly at auctions) A combination machine would be perfect as it should have both mig and plasma capability/hardware in the same package. I will wait and see tomorrow what Paul has come up with. J,V.L.
