1947 WDX diff question.

I was wondering if any other Dodge third members would fit into the housing of a 47 WDX. I have heard that the third member from a 8 3/4" would fit the housing of the
WDX. Does anyone know if this is true? Also who manufactered the differentials and housing for old PW's. The reason I ask is because of the limited axle ratios avaliable for the truck using the stock third member and I am looking for an alternative. I am not looking for brute strength because the truck will probably not see off-road use, well not at least if I own it. I just want enought speed so I can flow with traffic without the engine reving too hard.
