When I was younger I lived across the street from a retired Air Force mechanic. He worked on planes. I was out using my timing light and dwell meter. He came over w/a vacuum gauge and showed me what it could do.
He said they never used timing lights or anything else but a vacuum gauge on the planes. He told me they could track down all
kinds of problems with it. By the way he gave me the gauge in it's original box and I still use it today.
