Ford Econoline van eh?

You know, I have been to Memphis and seen just about everything converted to a bbq/smoker. Keep your eyes and nose open.

Might ask around the Rondevous bbq shop near the Peabody hotel.

Ok - enough jokes. I know what it is to slowly spin in circles saying, "But I'm sure I parked it RIGHT here". It's only then when you realize that some waste of human skin caused you so much grief for no good reason.

When creeps stole my car, the police found it two weeks later in south-central LA and had it ticketed and towed for parking violations.
Cost me 170 bucks for tow and storage and a lot of time fighting the ticket.
The car was fine except full of cigarette smoke and everything of value taken out of the trunk (flashlights, etc). They were kind enough to leave me lots of fast food wrappers and cups.

Here are some lessons I have learned

1. Don't expect to see your steering wheel covered in finger print dust. The police will not spend one second trying to find the thief. They either don't have the time or just don't care. It depends on who you talk to.

2. When they call you to tell you your van has been located and towed to storage, don't expect your van to be parked right out front. It will probably be blocked in by 20 other cars that have came into the yard after yours. They will not tell you if the van is running, stripped, burned, or anything else over the phone. They will not tell you to bring a tire, tow truck or anything else. Don't expect to get your car out of storage for free because it was stolen. They don't care that you are the victim.

3. You can get out of the parking ticket IF you can provide the court with the police report. Keep the copy safe.

4. You will feel like screaming "I am the victim here, not the bad guy!!" several times during the whole process. Just keep quite and shuffle through the system paying money to people who don't know anything and don't care.

Kind of harsh and jaded, but at least I am telling you the truth.

Best Wishes
Lonnie
