A 'hotter' cam will disturb the intake manifold vacume; both valves slightly open at the same time. Your new engine isn't broken-in yet (and I mean the seating of the rings). Do this gently and gradually as a machinist will advise. No high rpm's/speeds for 500-1000 miles, no staying at one speed for more than five minutes, but 'load' the rings several times, and change oil after 500 miles or so. ASk a Quality engine rebuilder about this, one who actually Cares.

I came across a guy by the road side who had just rebuilt an engine and in the first three minutes took it up to like 80; it had seized up.
