As any qualified psychologist will tell you, dreams are filled with symbolism and mind tricks.
A Power Wagon has been described as a very macho machine. She wanted to see your capabilities piloting a "PW".
She wasn't really offering the PW to you for six dollars. She was offering something else. And six dollars, by the way, is a very good price. (Personally, I've never paid for in my life...ahem.)
