Anyone catch last nights episode on the History Channel of "ww2 in color" ?
One of the scenes showed the North African campaign, and the difficulties encountered due to lack of ground cover. So they resorted to camoflauge on the vehicles paint job.
An portion of the clip showed a 1/2 ton command car being painted in a camo pattern.
The intersting note here was I noticed that this 1/2 tonner had 3/4 tonner combat wheels with the larger 9:00-16 tires.
So, I guess its a correct field mod to put the combat wheels
on the 1/2 tonners than!!!
Anyone see this? Does anyone have any still photos of 1/2 ton with the combat wheels on?
Also, anyone have any still shots of 1/2 ton CLOSED cab pickups in the North African Desert, in use with the U.S> Forces?
